My favorite part of any makeup application process, on both myself and clients, definitely has to be lash application. It truly makes your eyes POP and opens them up more. They enhance any eye look and look incredible in pictures! I always recommend them to my brides. There’s a huge variety of price points and styles of lashes on the market but today I’ll be highlighting my top favorite affordable ones that won’t break the bank! So whether your a makeup artist or just love lashes as much as I do, I’m certain you will find this post helpful!
These are the ones I reach for on a regular basis for myself. I love how these look on my eyes and give me just enough drama without it being over-the-top. They are super light weight and comfortable on the eyes. I barely know they’re there! Super affordable too on Amazon, linked here!
These I recently discovered and fell in love with! (Another awesome Amazon find!) They are a major dupe for the Ardell Demi Wispies but way more affordable! I love these for my kit because they are a great natural looking lash and my clients love them! These are also very light and comfortable and are perfect for someone who may be experimenting with lashes for the first time. This lash style gives a cat eye effect since they start out short on the inner corner and gradually get longer to elongate the eye. Shop them here.
These are one of my O.G faves. Before I discovered the Amazon ones, these were my #1 go to’s! They give a little more volume than the regular Wispies but still look light enough on the eyes so that you don’t look like you’re about to fly away. 🙂 These are also a good lash for my fellow hooded eye peeps! The flare of these help to open the eyes more at the center and give a more lifted illusion! Linked here.
These lashes are great for my natural lash lovers! Those that maybe have super short lashes or just want a tiny bit of enhancement without the lashes being too long or voluminous. I love using these in my kit for those type of clients as well as my mature clients. I will usually cut each lash into about 5 clumps and glue them on in individually to create an even more natural affect. I feel this is a lot faster for me than just going in with individual lashes. This also helps the lashes look less like a strip lash and more like your actual lashes. Shop here.
Last but not least, for my drama lash lovers! These are great for those of you who are really into makeup and love a dramatic eye look. These are full of volume and dimension and are sure to bring attention to the eye. These would look amazing with any full glam look if you had an event, photoshoot, etc. Try them out and let me know what you think! Linked here.
Which of these were you most drawn to? I would love to know your thoughts so please comment below! I hope you give one (or some) of these a try. Before I go, here’s 5 quick lash tips for you,
- Always be sure to trim your lashes at the END of the lash strip (never the inside lashes) to fit it to your eye shape!
- Be sure you are using a good strong glue! I’ll link my favorite drugstore lash glue here.
- Be sure you’re not applying too much glue. Just one swipe along the lash will do. There should never be huge clumps of glue or any dripping of the glue on the lash.
- After applying the glue to the lash strip it’s important to allow it to dry for about 20 seconds, or until it gets tacky, before applying to your eye!
- Be sure the lash is applied directly above your lash line. There should be no gap between your lashes and the strip lash.
Now go slay the lash game and make those pretty eyes POP! 😉
